DESCRIPTION:Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization according to Kolar (DNS) | A Developmental Kinesiology Approach\nDNS “B” Course & Certification Summary: \nThis ACES DNS “B” Compact Course includes 18 contact hours of instruction over two (2) days instead of the typical Three (3)-day DNS A Course! \n  \nImportant Update: The Prague School of Rehabilitation has confirmed that the DNS Basic B Course may now be taken without prior completion of Course A. All are welcome to begin their DNS journey at the B level! \n  \nCourse Summary: \n\nDemonstrate an understanding of developmental kinesiology and its relationship with pathology of the locomotor system: review theory covered in the A course and introduce more advanced theory\, namely the verticalization process\nDescribe the basis for primitive reflexes and postural reactions and their roles in developmental kinesiology\nIntroduce basic information about reflex locomotion according to Vojta\nPerform demonstration of assessments of babies: attendees will be able to recognize ideal and disturbed locomotor patterns and determine developmental age of the babies\nDemonstrate and teach proper handling of infants\nDemonstration application of DNS assessment and treatment in adult patients with pain and dysfunction within the locomotor system – stabilization assessment and treatment strategy\nPostural analysis & testing of integrated spinal stabilization system – review of Course A tests and introduction to additional\, advanced tests\nIntegration of corrective exercises based on newly taught DNS functional tests\nExercise in differentiated ipsilateral and contralateral static positions\, position transfer during locomotor function\, exercise progression using unstable surface\, resistance against “planned movement\,” dual tasking and other challenges both in ipsi and contralateral patterns\, transition between ipsilateral and contralateral patterns\, training of isolated segmental movement\nIntroduction to cortical functioning – body scheme\, quality of relaxation\, isolated segmental movements\nProvide more complex clinical management explanation for clinicians to better integrate more advanced DNS protocols into clinical practice\nOptimally prepare students for the next level of training (Course “C”)\n\n  \nNOTE: Class size is limited to only 15 students\, so sign up quickly! \n  \nCertification and Examination Details:\nA Certificate of ATTENDANCE will be awarded by local instructor. \nOPTIONAL EXAMINATION:\nParticipants who would like to participate in the educational track towards becoming a certified practitioner can take this exam for an additional fee of 130 Euros. \nThe test will consist of an analysis of babies at various developmental stages . Web link to view videos will be mailed to participant for analysis. \nParticipants are advised to return the test to the DNS instructor within 2 months after the course. Upon successful completion and passing of the test\, a Certificate of ACHIEVEMENT from Prague School of Rehabilitation will be awarded. \nMay only re-take the test 3 times.\nOtherwise\, the clinician would be required to repeat one or more courses before re-qualifying for certification testing. \n  \nEarn CE Credits in Your State\nThis course has received CCE and PACE approval.
